Belize got its independence in 1981!

Happy birthday Belize! We all know that ever since Belize got its independence, it haven't bin easy. But we are here...Over all we are moving on, we are happy as ever and we are trying to to become ea great nation, with great civilization. I hope that the misshapen with Guatemala be resolve soon! All my best wishes!!!

To whom it may concern:
My name is Daniuska Larios, I am 23 years old. I have been married for about three years, and currently am enrolled at the University of Belize ACE program. The reason as to why am writing is to validate myself as professional, as an employee, and as a future student of the University of Belize.
I would like to be given an opportunity to enroll in the pharmacy course, at the Belmopan campus in order for me to further my knowledge in pharmaceuticals. I had the opportunity to work for miss. Leslie at Safe Way drug store where I developed a passion for what I now do. I love the rewarding feeling of knowing that my knowledge and my work benefited someone in a positive way. For the past years and a half I have been working as a pharmaceutical technician at Wilmac’s pharmacy. I have the experience and the background to become more than just a technician. I would like to become a register pharmacist, and I know I have the motivation and the willingness to pursue my career. I also know that my high school grades were not the best and that was the reason as to why I didn't get accepted the first time. But I can reassure you that am going to do what it takes for me to be a successful student. I am willing to put the time, and above all am willing to put in all my effort to successfully complete the course.
I would like to be given the opportunity to further my education, and to reassure myself that I can do better for myself regardless of any condition, age, or status. I am looking forward to become a part of the University of Belize alumnae in nearest future.

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a general term for several disorders that cause nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worrying. These disorders affect how we feel and behave, and they can manifest real physical symptoms. Mild anxiety is vague and unsettling, while severe anxiety can be extremely debilitating, having a serious impact on daily life.

People often experience a general state of worry or fear before confronting something challenging such as a test, examination, recital, or interview. These feelings are easily justified and considered normal. Anxiety is considered a problem when symptoms interfere with a person's ability to sleep or otherwise function!
Over all I would say that anxiety is in our everyday life, it is important to know that this disorder can be control. Don't take this for granted, and don't let this overcome your life!

                          Love!!

What is love...love is that warm, fuzzy feeling that you get when you see the guy, that guy that from the moment you met him you knew he was the one! Love can make you do crazy, stupid things. Love can make you or break you. Love can make you touch the sky in one minute, and make you crash down back to earth in the next. Love can make you feel those butterfly in your tummy, and can also make you taste the salty tears, tears that are .1% water and 9.99% feelings. Love can embrace your reality and make your future, the same love that can make you happy and everlasting...that my friends is the love that some of us get to experience once in a life time! The love that touch our door once and if you don't open it in time, you can only see it pass by. The love that brings forth the best in you and the dark side of you. That my friends...is the love that once experience you'll keep coming back for more! That my friends is the joy that endures!!

                                                                                                                               Daniuska Larios.

Letter's to John

Dear Hon. John:

I am writing in regards of the crime rate in Belize City and all over the nation. I am presently attending the University of Belize, and lately our institution has been shaken to its core by the murder of our fellow classmate Suzanne Martinez. She was a very charm young lady, full of life and a student with great potential.  As a citizen of Belize, am sick and tire of living I fear. Therefor I have decided to join forces with my fellow Belizeans in a protest.
For the past five years Belizeans have been living in fear of a stray bullet, of someone entering to our homes while we are at work, and above all, we are even afraid to go out of our homes to recreational purpose. In addition, I am a concern citizen, who has organized neighborhood watches, installed cameras on my front porch, and informed the police of any abnormality around me.
I am not trying to teach you how to do your job, but as a concern citizen of Belize  I would love to see more police officer on duties, I am also suggesting surveillance cameras on the streets, and for you as the national head of security to reinforce the law. Also offer the public alternative on either witness protection or change of identification. So they can feel free to come forth and testify against the criminals, and not live in fear for their lives.

Why would I like to enroll at The University Of Belize?

In this century and in our society, education is the primary key to open great possibilities in a person's future. In my personal opinion one of the most outstanding institution in Belize is the University of Belize. Academically wise it has one of the most impeccable records. It offers a wide variety of options in courses in which  a student can enroll. It is also affordable and they have many option plans in which a student can apply for financial aid.      Ever since I was a little girl, I grew up listening to my parents and their colleagues, speak about the high standard test records, that the University of Belize expected for an incoming students. Now as an adult I see it for myself, that U.B has a set reputation to maintain. Since their achievement, and effort to become the number one institution has place them on top. I have noticed that a U.B student have to maintain a certain grade point average, in order for them to continue to be a part of the institution. That is just essential for the institution's impeccable record to remain the same. It is just self explanatory, the academic records of a school determines the standard and the quality of education offered by the school; therefore the demands of applicants for the University of Belize.        Am interested in the pharmacy course, which not many institutions offers. In Belize city alone we have; St.johns college JC, Wesley College JC and University of West Indies, but none of them have the wide variety, and options that U.B have. If we see it mathematically wise, the amount of courses that an institution offers, equals the amount of students in demand for a particular subject area. And that of course equals to the amount of revenue for the institution.       As we all know; a good education comes with a price tag, and as many institution the University of Belize also offers financial aid. One of the things that attracted me the most was the fact that they offers working scholarship, Pay in 5 years plan, and they actually give you back the extra money paid, not in books worth or otherwise, but actual money. And as a working students, we know how much any small income is worth.       Above all we know how much does an education worth in todays day, and what role it plays in our society. We also know that an education is the primary key to open up new possibilities in this century. Therefore impeccable records are necessary to compete for the job of choice, since the statistics of Belize are not in our favour.

I was an active member in my church, and at the age of eighth I join the choir. I've always been interested in school, as a child I went to Trinity Methodist School, and Wesley college as a teen. I've never repeated any grade before, and am so not planing to. Presently am enroll in the Ace program at the University of Belize.

As a child my passion was modeling, dancing, and singing. When I was five years old I competed on a pageant and won second place, two years in a row. As a teen my priorities change,  I felt in love, and am still in love. When I was in second form I found my perfect match, and ever since I've been with him. I got married at the age of nineteen, two months away from my twentieth birthday. On a fine summer morning, which later turn into a raining evening...May 1st 2009! It was one of the happiest moment in my life.I've been married for three years now, and am still happy.

My long term dream is to continue my studies, and become a certify Pharmacist. As soon as I graduate I would like to open up my own business, and I would like to start my family as well, am aiming for three children the most, or twins. Which I could have the possibility since twins are common in my family. My husband and I complement each other, and am positively sure that he love kids as much as I do. I can't say that am aiming to get rich, as my parents thought me "Every thing good can be achieve by hard work and, every thing comes with a price."

Belize's Carnival

As like every year Belize had its carnival yesterday, many people have their opinions, some like it, some loved it, but other just don't get it anymore. The glamorous costumes, glitters the music, it all supposed to cum together and in a nut shell depict our custom and our tradition. This year was not the exception, the carnival was not short of spectators  and the semi naked dancers.
I love carnival, but for the pass few years carnival is not what it use to be. Now its all about showing skin, drunken people are the dancers, people that seems that have no respect for the elderly nor the young audience; now it seems that its all about the robing of the human body against sweaty and smelly people is the new trend. When did our carnival stop bin so fun, when will we see the beauty of it again? I hope that our future festivity has  much more to offer than what we presence this year.
Growing up I remember glamorous people, renounce name among the carnival crowd. They might not have bin professional dancers, but they were aware of the fact that there were small children among the spectators. I can remember the handing out of shiny necklaces, the confetti falling from the sky, and all the goodies that as a child I use to love. The costumes that were well craft and that they actually had a meaning; such as the symbol of our flag, the rain-forest, the different ethnic groups representation.

Creating My Blog

Blog... what is a blog? You might ask, well a blog is created by an individual, who wants to either publish or get a point across easier. Many people odd friends, meet new friends or even meet their perfect match by blogging, furthermore many culinary explorers also use blogs to narrate about their experiences, their adventures and their new findings; such as what's new, what's hot and what's not, blog about their personal life and work.

find that creating my own blog is not as hard as it seems, personally I believe that  creating a twitter account is much more harder and complicated than creating this blog. I also anticipate that this new tool would be of great asset to our class discussions, and hope that with a proper use of this technology our knowledge would be enhance greatly.
